SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND

BirdLife Southern Queensland and Birds Queensland join forces to co-host the Queensland Ornithological Conference. This event brings together local and national experts and enthusiasts on Australian avifauna to share and discuss the latest bird research and conservation.

 

This year the conference theme is Conservation Challenges and Opportunities. We are thrilled to have already locked in some wonderful keynote speakers.

Conference Registration

Students and standard tickets for the conference can be purchased via this EventBrite link. Early bird tickets open 5th April 2022 and close on 24th June 2022 (Now extended to July 15 to take advantage of the door prize. See the conference Program page for more details). Full registration closes 29th July. Pricing details are below.

 

We have extended registrations to the morning of the conference. Please note no refunds are available and we may not be able to provide catering but will endeavour to do so. Tickets are sold after the 29th is done so on that understanding.

The 2022 Queensland Ornithological Conference will be held at the Pullman & Mercure Brisbane, King George Square on the corner of Ann Street and Roma Street, Brisbane QLD 4000.

COVID-19 Information and Refund Policy

The conference committee will continue to monitor any changing public health advice regarding coronavirus and communicate this via the conference website and email to attendees. We will follow all public health directives, as published on the government website
 

In the event there is a government-mandated lockdown, the conference will be postponed and attendees notified. The same refund policy will apply for this later date.

Refund policy

  • Refunds minus Eventbrite fees (5% + $0.99) will be made for cancellations more than 28 days before the event

  • 50% refund will be made for cancellations 2-4 weeks before the event (9 – 23 July)

  • No refunds will be given for cancellations within 2 weeks of the event (From 24 July)
